4/15/2019  · In the Jericho Ditch entrance you find many miles of hiking and biking. This is also a great area for bird watching during the spring migration and visiting the bird banding station. The Feeder Ditch entrance is a by water only access to Lake Drummond from the Dismal Swamp Canal entering the refuge from the east.


The Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is the largest intact remnant of a vast habitat that once covered more than one million acres of southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The refuge currently encompasses over 112,000 acres of this environmentally and biologically important area.
