I see two problems here: 1.) Ubuntu is not a supported platform for Oracle. 2.) The tutorial you’re following is for Ubuntu 15.04, but you’re on Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS.

General checklist for troubleshooting a) Incorrect installation of Oracle software b) Incorrectly set environment c) Missing operating system patches d) Incorrect operating system setup e) Missing file permissions f) Incorrectly installed C compiler or Linker g) Inadequate operating system parameters h) Check with the supplier of the operating system, crt1.o under /usr/lib if it exists then stop current installation and remove temporary files and current files created during this installation and start installation again.
